About This Event

Restoration Ride19, The Finale is a cycling event that started in 2015 and is held to raise funds for the restoration and day to day maintenance for the Kymulga Grist Mill. This pre civil war landmark , sitting on the Talladega Creek, contains a water turbine gristmill, a store, banquet room, campgrounds and historic covered bridge. Camping is provided for both RV and primitive campers and bathrooms with showers are provided as well.

The Restoration Ride will have 4 routes available this yr, a challenging 103 mile, a 70 mile, a 33 mile and a family fun ride of 8 miles.

As always, a pre ride breakfast will be available starting at 6:00 am and including eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and assorted fruits. Once you have returned to the mill a post ride lunch of slow smoked pulled pork, smoked chicken, homemade deviled eggs, cole slaw, green beans, bread and home made banana pudding will be available. A vegan dish will also be provided.

SAG support as well as HAM radio operators will be on course monitoring the riders and helping out if needed. Rest stops will be on course, with different snacks, drinks , etc to help riders complete their chosen route!

This final year the Restoration Ride will be capping entries at 450 riders, so be sure to register early and take advantage of saving a few dollars prior to price increase.

Also new for this year, we will be providing a special Tandem riders registration cost for the first 14 days only!

Come on out and enjoy a day of cycling, great food and spending some time touring one of Talladega County’s oldest historical landmarks!
