About This Event
Join us on this six-day, six night cycling adventure along the sun-dappled emerald coast that time forgot.
Your trek will begin in Tallahassee, not far from the stunning white sand beaches of Shellpoint.
You will spend two nights in the century-old fully restored Governor’s Inn, located in the heart of Florida’s capital. From there you will travel to beautiful Wakulla county where you will experience a jungle river cruise on a crystal clear, spring-fed river at Wakulla State Park and spend two nights at the lovely Wildwood Inn.
After that you will cycle the vast expanse of the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge to an historic lighthouse perched on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico and spend two nights at the historic Gibson Inn in Apalachicola. You can walk the streets of downtown and find quaint shops, art galleries, restaurants and museums.
You will visit charming seaside towns, enjoy miles of uninterrupted Gulf views and experience the culture and culinary arts of a little known stretch of Florida that has well and truly earned its name: The Forgotten Coast.
Touring in Rural Florida
Rustic Hotels and Limited Food Choices
Please understand that some of our hotels will be more rustic than others, and that sometimes there will be limited food choices for those on special diets. We are taking you to rural Florida, and if you are a picky eater this tour may not be the one for you.
The pace of life is slow in rural Florida, so be prepared for the schedule to not always go as planned. Because of our large group service at meals can take longer than you are used to and there will be a lot of “going with the flow”. Please keep this in mind when choosing this tour. While we think it’s great to take a break from our hectic schedules, some people do not find this an enjoyable way to spend their vacation. In other words, if you are someone that prefers to stick to a tight schedule you may not want to sign up for this tour.
Weather Cancellation Policy
This is a Rain or Shine Event. No Refunds or Transfers
The safety of our participants and volunteers is our most important concern and if any of the threatening weather conditions are present the day of the event (tornado warning, tornado watch, thunderstorm, heavy rain or a hurricane decides to visit), the event may be delayed or canceled.
When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, such conditions fall under the label “acts of mother nature,” it will not result in refunding of any event entry fees or future event credits, since funds were already spent in preparation for your event day.
